Dr. Gerhard Schmidt– our founder –
Shortly before reaching the age of 90 he passed away on February 20th 2009. He was: Management consultant; up to 1989 chairman of the supervisory boards of several companies; foundation board member of the World Economic Forum, Geneva (WEF) until 1998; chairman of the executive boards of the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation and of the Westphalia Foundation; holder of the Gold Medal for Services Rendered in the Field of Foundations and of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany |
